Work of /2020
In the Fall of 2020 - as the COVID-19 pandemic raged - the second year MFA students in Graphic Design at Calarts were tasked with imagining an exhibition that could take place in real space that spoke to the moment we find ourselves in. I researched, curated, designed and cataloged the exhibition over the course of four weeks via Zoom. An exercise in optimism as much as speculation, the catalog for the exhibition is here in the hope that this shared artifact could foretell communal gathering to come.
The "Tribute to the Beauty of Incompleteness" exhibition aims to introduce the Eastern philosophical spirit to the audience by showing traditional Chinese culture and aesthetics, in the form of appreciating the beauty of incompleteness, and the advanced art of imperfection.
